Goose Island Christmas IPA
Goose Island Brewery out of Chicago IL. @GooseIslaom Them…nd Seasonal Christmas IPA can. Every Year Goose Island drops it holiday can, a simple clean designed Christmas red can for everyone to have an excuse to drink a “Christmas Beer”
Let’s get to the beer… This IPA is a dark IPA, Much darker then its all-season IPA in the white and green can that you can find everywhere. This is a darker stouty Indian Pale Ale. The caramel malt makes this beer the dark color however the Hops bring nice tones and flavors to the beer. Goose Island is owned by AB and has become a staple beer in many bars all over the US because of AB’s distribution channels. They have the roots and boots in the craft brew space however they produce beer by the volume and the formula is precise. You know what you are getting in each can and it loses the craft brew charm where each beer can be slightly different.
From them …
Christmas IPA is a malt-forward IPA using 6 different hops throughout the process. Subtle stone fruit and wood notes balance with caramel malt on the palate dry-hopped with Meridian, Ahtanum, and Cashmere. It’s got a bit of an old school feel on the malt side with caramel malt and a lovely red hue to go with the classic kettle hop backbone. Nicely balanced and dry, this little number dons a big fruity aroma.
